Cruise & Tour presents Tanzania Wildlife Safari
During our journey through the great game reserves of Tanzania, we’ll have many chances to see countless species of African wildlife. Elephant, lion, zebra, cheetah, hippo, rhino, crocodile, giraffe, ostrich, thousands of wildebeest… and many, many more, all in their natural habitat. Our expert driver-guides will get us amazingly close to the animals in 6-passenger open-roof safari vehicles, with each person guaranteed a window seat.
Speaking of safari guides, it is the people who take care of us along the way who will make you absolutely fall in love with Tanzania. These are literally the kindest and hardest working people you will ever meet. From our daily game drives with our safari guides to the staff at each hotel, it really doesn’t get any better than this.
We’ve selected first-rate accommodations throughout our journey that both highlight the natural beauty of Tanzania and put us in the best locations for wildlife viewing. Upon arrival in Tanzania, we’ll check into the lovely Serena Arusha Lodge to rest up for the adventure to come. In Tarangire National Park we’ll call the Tarangire Sopa Lodge home for two nights. Next, it’s two nights of awe-inspiring views at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, perched high atop the Ngorongoro Crater floor on its jagged rim. Then it’s on to the grandest of grand finales. In the Southern Serengeti we’ll take over the perfect luxury tented camp. This is what sets our safari apart. The big operators simply can’t stay here and skip this region. But not us! This is where migration will be and let me tell you, prepare to be blown away on our 5 game drives in this region. We’ll spend three nights at the luxury Lake Masek Tented Lodge for a true “Out of Africa” experience.

Itinerary
Depart USA
Today we begin our exciting journey with our flight bound for Arusha, Tanzania.
Arrive Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, we will be met by your guide and transferred to the beautiful Serena Arusha Game Lodge where our rooms for the next two nights await.
Explore Arusha
Today we’ll discover the city of Arusha, meet its warm people, and tour a village to see locals blow glass, weave, and make fine handicrafts. Later we will meet the children of Tumaini Orphanage, sponsored by Cruise & Tour and its safari guests.
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast and safari briefing, the adventure begins with our first game drive in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s newest and least developed national park. Tarangire is famous for its large number of elephants and the baobab tree. The water source of the Tarangire River provides an excellent opportunity to spot some of the first large game of the journey including wildebeest, zebra, elephant, impala, gazelle and more.

Ngorongoro Crater
Following a morning game drive, we’ll visit an Iraqw community to learn about their way of life. We’ll continue to the Farm House and enjoy a guided tour of the “The Farm,” learning about the natural history of a colonial-style coffee plantation. After lunch, we’ll travel to Ngorongoro crater and check into our lodge, built in the craters rim, affording endless views of the crater below.
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we’ll descend into one of the largest unbroken craters on earth. The grassy plains on the crater’s floor are a permanent home to huge herds of common zebra, gazelle, and wildebeest. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is also the best place to see the natural population of black rhino.
Southern Serengeti Plains
This morning, we’ll depart for the Southern Serengeti Plains. On our way we’ll stop at the far end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to see the Olduvai Gorge archeological site, widely regarded as the cradle of mankind and the most important prehistoric site in the world. Upon arrival at Lake Masek Tented Lodge, we will check in, have lunch, and prepare for our afternoon game drive. Our camp, located by the shores of Lake Masek, is perfectly situated between the plains of Serengeti National Park and the northwest side of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It’s on these plains that wildebeest cows congregate in tens of thousands to give birth. As you’d expect, there are plenty of predators and lots of action at this time of year.
Southern Serengeti Plains
Enjoy two full game drives in Serengeti National Park. One of the world’s greatest experiences, floating in a hot air balloon over the plains of the Serengeti, is offered as an optional tour today.
