Founders Club Grand Adventure – Tanzania & Seychelles
I am beyond excited to tell you about my Founders Club Grand Adventure for 2023. What makes my Founders Club trips so special? They are journeys to world-class destinations for experiences that stir the imagination. They are a discovery of amazing places, cultures and people that perhaps we’ve known about for most of our lives, and suddenly we are there… a “bucket list” entry fulfilled. A dream come true.
For 2023 I was torn between two very different destinations, each an incredibly rewarding travel experience in its own right. In the end I couldn’t choose so I said to the Cruise & Tour team, “Let’s offer them both.”
Presenting my 2023 Founders Club Grand Adventure:
PART 1 — THE GREAT WILDEBEEST MIGRATION – Tanzania, East Africa
PART 2 — THE MAGICAL SEYCHELLES ISLANDS – Seychelles Islands, Indian Ocean
Our chartered vessel has just 21 cabins, so an early decision on this is a must to avoid disappointment. I invite you to read on, check out the stunning pictures and discover why you need to join me on this once-in-a-lifetime travel experience.

Aug. 30-Sep. 23, 2023
25 Days / 24 Nights
Our journey begins with an overnight flight to Doha, Qatar. Upon landing, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the world’s #1 rated airport before transferring to our flight to Arusha, Tanzania.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport early this morning, we’ll meet our guide and transfer to the beautiful Mount Meru Game Lodge where our rooms for the next two nights awaits.
Today we’ll explore the city of Arusha, meet its warm people, and tour a village to see locals blow glass, weave and make fine handicrafts. Later we will meet the children of Tumaini Orphanage, sponsored by Cruise & Tour and its safari guests. (B, D)
Tarangire National Park
Today we’ll enjoy our first game drive in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s newest and least developed national park. Tarangire is famous for its number of elephants and the baobab tree. The water source of the Tarangire River provides an excellent opportunity to see some of the first large game including wildebeest, zebra, elephant, impala, gazelle and more. Spend two nights at Tarangire Sopa Lodge. (B, L, D)
Tarangire National Park
Today enjoy two full game drives in Tarangire National Park. (B, L, D)
Ngorongoro Farm House
Following a morning game drive, we’ll visit an Iraqw community to learn about their way of life. We’ll continue to the Farm House and enjoy a guided tour of the “The Farm,” learning about the natural history of a colonial-style coffee plantation. Following lunch, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. (B, L, D)
Following breakfast, we’ll depart for the Central Serengeti. On the way, we’ll stop at the far end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a special tour of the Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. It is at Olduvai where remains of Zinjanthropus, the world’s first humans, were discovered by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey over 50 years ago. Here we will enjoy a picnic lunch followed by a game drive on the way to Kubu Kubu Luxury Tented Camp. (B, L, D)
Our game drive this morning is in the Seronera River Valley, located in the south-central region of the park and known as the Big Cat Capital of Africa. The Serona is rich in lion, leopard and cheetah and people often spot all three in one day of game drives. The highlight of the day is a guided ranger visit to a special area of the Serengeti to see the most successful free-ranging populations of Black Rhino. (B, L, D)
Following breakfast, we’ll drive to the Northern Serengeti. Located close to the Mara River in the Kogatende area, situated in the heart of the migration, the area is home to extraordinary diversity. We will be able to observe the Great Migration from the comfort of our luxury tent. The adventure will begin with a late afternoon game drive. (B, L, D)
The northern area of the Serengeti is a vast, pristine area of wooded rolling hills interspersed with open grassy patches and large granite outcrops. It is here we hope to witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa, the Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River. This lush, idyllic spot hidden away in the remote reaches of the north is home to many varieties of birds including kingfishers, hoopoes, and rollers. The Mara River also contains a healthy population of Nile crocodiles, some measuring over 15 feet and weighing over 1,500 lbs. During these two days, we’ll be game driving in the morning and late afternoon, exploring the Mara River to find wildebeest crossing and many other wildlife. (B, L, D)
Today enjoy two full game drives in Northern Serengeti National Park. (B, L, D)

Encounter the diversity of the Seychelles’ largest island, with a tour starting in Victoria, its capital city. Visit the clock tower and local market before enjoying a leisurely drive through winding mountain accesses and tea plantations. Later, head south to Jardin du Roi’s exotic spice gardens and learn about the medicinal and traditional uses of the local plants. Enjoy a traditional Creole lunch at a local Mahe restaurant before stopping at a craft market to shop for handmade souvenirs, en route back to your resort. (B, L, D)

Board Yacht – Sainte Anne Island
Enjoy a morning at leisure before you head to the ship to embark on your 7-day cruise around the beautiful Seychelles aboard the M/Y Pegasos! After the welcome cocktail we leave Port Victoria and sail to nearby Sainte Anne for a refreshing swim stop off the ship, your first dip of many, into the Indian Ocean. (B, L)
This morning visit Curieuse, an uninhabited island once colonized by lepers. Enjoy a walking excursion with a park guide through mangrove forests to see Curieuse’s giant tortoises. Later, return to the beach for a BBQ under the trees, followed by an afternoon at leisure to enjoy the beach and sea activities. Curieuse is a haven for sea turtles, so be sure to keep an eye out as a sighting will be an awe- inspiring experience! (B, L, D)
Cousin Island & Anse Lazio
Set sail this morning for Cousin Island, a nature reserve hosting a multitude of native birds, lizards and giant tortoises that utilize the beaches for nesting. While here, you may choose to visit a bird sanctuary which is in the care of BirdLife International, a worldwide community supporting volunteers, conservationists and scientists around the world. An afternoon sail transports us to Anse Lazio, Praslin, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Soft white sand and blue water so incredibly clear makes this day perfect for swimming, water sports and snorkeling. (B, L, D)
Aride – St. Pierre – Baie Ste. Anne
Sail to Aride where the island’s rangers will take you all the way to the top of the island. Don’t forget to bring along your camera to capture this jaw-dropping view. Keep your eyes peeled for the indigenous Wright’s Gardenia, found nowhere else on Earth. Then sail to St. Pierre for snorkeling and swimming. Later, delight in a Creole feast as we sail to Baie Sainte Anne, Praslin at sunset. (B, L, D)
Felicite – La Digue
Enjoy a morning of leisure aboard the ship or take an optional tour to explore the famous Vallee de Mai Reserve. An afternoon of “sailing wherever the wind takes us” affords abundant opportunities for snorkeling and swimming along uninhabited islands under the Seychelles sun. Later, an evening arrival to La Digue to anchor in front of the port for the night. (B, L, D)
Dotted with giant granite boulders set against turquoise water, the beaches on La Digue are among the most beautiful in the world. The choice is yours today. Choose to purchase an optional excursion in La Digue, relax on a sandy beach or explore the island at your leisure. Later today, sail to Moyenne Island, opposite Mahe. (B, L, D)
Experience a short, guided tour around the island before a BBQ on deck. This afternoon is your last opportunity for snorkeling and swimming before we set sail for Mahe’s Port Victoria. In the late afternoon, we’ll reach the Inter Island Quay where your Captain cordially invites you to join him for a farewell dinner with live music and dancing. This evening, we’ll begin our journey home with an evening flight to Doha. (B, L, D)
