Founders Club Grand Adventure – Tanzania & Seychelles
I am beyond excited to tell you about my Founders Club Grand Adventure for 2023. What makes my Founders Club trips so special? They are journeys to world-class destinations for experiences that stir the imagination. They are a discovery of amazing places, cultures and people that perhaps we’ve known about for most of our lives, and suddenly we are there… a “bucket list” entry fulfilled. A dream come true.
For 2023 I was torn between two very different destinations, each an incredibly rewarding travel experience in its own right. In the end I couldn’t choose so I said to the Cruise & Tour team, “Let’s offer them both.”
Presenting my 2023 Founders Club Grand Adventure:
PART 1 — THE GREAT WILDEBEEST MIGRATION – Tanzania, East Africa
PART 2 — THE MAGICAL SEYCHELLES ISLANDS – Seychelles Islands, Indian Ocean
Our chartered vessel has just 21 cabins, so an early decision on this is a must to avoid disappointment. I invite you to read on, check out the stunning pictures and discover why you need to join me on this once-in-a-lifetime travel experience.

Itinerary
Depart USA
Our journey begins with an overnight flight to Doha, Qatar. Upon landing, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the world’s #1 rated airport before transferring to our flight to Arusha, Tanzania.
In Transit
Arrive Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport early this morning, we’ll meet our guide and transfer to the beautiful Mount Meru Game Lodge where our rooms for the next two nights awaits.
Explore Arusha
Today we’ll explore the city of Arusha, meet its warm people, and tour a village to see locals blow glass, weave and make fine handicrafts. Later we will meet the children of Tumaini Orphanage, sponsored by Cruise & Tour and its safari guests. (B, D)
Tarangire National Park
Today we’ll enjoy our first game drive in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s newest and least developed national park. Tarangire is famous for its number of elephants and the baobab tree. The water source of the Tarangire River provides an excellent opportunity to see some of the first large game including wildebeest, zebra, elephant, impala, gazelle and more. Spend two nights at Tarangire Sopa Lodge. (B, L, D)
Tarangire National Park
Today enjoy two full game drives in Tarangire National Park. (B, L, D)
Ngorongoro Farm House
Following a morning game drive, we’ll visit an Iraqw community to learn about their way of life. We’ll continue to the Farm House and enjoy a guided tour of the “The Farm,” learning about the natural history of a colonial-style coffee plantation. Following lunch, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. (B, L, D)
Central Serengeti
Following breakfast, we’ll depart for the Central Serengeti. On the way, we’ll stop at the far end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a special tour of the Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. It is at Olduvai where remains of Zinjanthropus, the world’s first humans, were discovered by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey over 50 years ago. Here we will enjoy a picnic lunch followed by a game drive on the way to Kubu Kubu Luxury Tented Camp. (B, L, D)
Central Serengeti
Our game drive this morning is in the Seronera River Valley, located in the south-central region of the park and known as the Big Cat Capital of Africa. The Serona is rich in lion, leopard and cheetah and people often spot all three in one day of game drives. The highlight of the day is a guided ranger visit to a special area of the Serengeti to see the most successful free-ranging populations of Black Rhino. (B, L, D)
Northern Serengeti
Following breakfast, we’ll drive to the Northern Serengeti. Located close to the Mara River in the Kogatende area, situated in the heart of the migration, the area is home to extraordinary diversity. We will be able to observe the Great Migration from the comfort of our luxury tent. The adventure will begin with a late afternoon game drive. (B, L, D)
Northern Serengeti
The northern area of the Serengeti is a vast, pristine area of wooded rolling hills interspersed with open grassy patches and large granite outcrops. It is here we hope to witness the most amazing wildlife spectacle in Africa, the Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River. This lush, idyllic spot hidden away in the remote reaches of the north is home to many varieties of birds including kingfishers, hoopoes, and rollers. The Mara River also contains a healthy population of Nile crocodiles, some measuring over 15 feet and weighing over 1,500 lbs. During these two days, we’ll be game driving in the morning and late afternoon, exploring the Mara River to find wildebeest crossing and many other wildlife. (B, L, D)

Curieuse
This morning visit Curieuse, an uninhabited island once colonized by lepers. Enjoy a walking excursion with a park guide through mangrove forests to see Curieuse’s giant tortoises. Later, return to the beach for a BBQ under the trees, followed by an afternoon at leisure to enjoy the beach and sea activities. Later, delight in a Creole feast as we sail to Baie Sainte Anne, Praslin at sunset. (B, L, D)
