Frank Beckmann's British Isles Vacation
IT’S OFFICIAL! The 1st Annual Frank Beckmann Vacation has been launched as part of the WJR Travel Club! We’ve lined up this vacation, first and foremost, with everyone in mind. And, if you are a golf lover like you know I am, we’ve got additional golfing opportunities that will make this a once-in- a-lifetime event – in other words, THE BEST!!!
Introducing the 1st Annual
Frank Beckmann Vacation
Scotland, Ireland & England aboard the Azamara Journey
Featuring the Final Round at The Open
Let’s start with what this vacation isn’t. It isn’t just a guys’ trip where we’ll golf by day and drink scotch by night (although I’m really looking forward to both of those activities). This is a trip for ALL of my listeners and has something for EVERYONE! If you want to sightsee, you’ll enjoy some of the most historic and stunning sights on the planet along with me. If you want to golf, you’ll be able to golf on some of the game’s most iconic courses along with me. If you want to shop, there’s almost no limit. Men, women, couples, friends, families…you’re all invited. As far as I’m concerned, the more the merrier!
And talk about special, we’re all going to see the Final Round of The 148th Open in person at Northern Ireland’s magnificent Royal Portrush Golf Club! It’s already included in your vacation package. Golf fan or not, you are going to know you are experiencing something very special.
PS: I’m adding the golf package to my vacation and if you want to do the same, BOOK NOW! These are the hardest tee times to get in the world. Now is when they are available.

Relax on your overnight flight to Scotland.
Edinburgh (Leith), Scotland
Arrive in Edinburgh and transfer to nearby Leith to board the Azamara Journey. Get to know Frank and your fellow WJR Travel Club members over a fun welcome session. Overnight in port.
Edinburgh (Leith), Scotland
Head to Edinburgh’s historic heart with a walk down The Royal Mile. At the top, perched above the city, is Edinburgh Castle, home to the crown jewels and sweeping views. At the far end is the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official residence when in Scotland. Buildings steeped in history line the route between the two.
A popular port of call, Invergordon combines a superb natural setting of mountains, tumbling waterfalls, rushing rivers, magnificent gardens, and serene lochs—including Loch Ness and its famous resident.
Londonderry, Northern Ireland
This emerging cosmopolitan city is complete with quaint restaurants, hearty pubs and fantastic independent shops. From here we’ll head to Royal Portrush Golf Club to watch the final round of The 148th Open.
Final Round at The Open
Witness the magic of golf’s oldest major in person at the final round of The 148th Open played at Northern Ireland’s magnificent Royal Portrush Golf Club (1888). Transportation to and from Royal Portrush as well as final round tickets are included in the Frank Beckmann Vacation!
Belfast, Northern Ireland
Stroll along the slipways where the Titanic was built and explore a stunning new museum dedicated to the ship’s famous, ill-fated journey. Set out from the city and explore the otherworldly rock landscape of the Giant’s Causeway. Wet your whistle at the Bushmills distillery or settle into a pub for a pint of Guinness.
Glasgow is a lively and cosmopolitan city set against a background of exceptional Victorian architecture and state-of-the-art glass towers which house a growing financial services industry. The real Glasgow can be found in the pubs, where everything big and small is discussed over a pint.
Douglas, Isle of Man
Take a trip back in time when you arrive in Douglas on the Isle of Man. Horse-drawn trams guide travelers through scenic seafront streets just as locals have been doing since 1876. Visit medieval fortresses, abandoned castles (haunted by a ghost dog) and the village of Cregneash, where residents live in authentic thatched cottages.
A UNESCO World Heritage City, Liverpool combines contemporary and classic architecture, world-class golf, soccer and horse racing, plus unique boutiques and shops that also make it one of England’s leading retail destinations. Stroll the famed waterfront, visit the Museum of Liverpool and the Walker Art Gallery, and pay homage to The Beatles at Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.
Spend time in Temple Bar and watch the city come alive, take a ghost tour to discover Dracula’s unnerving connection to Dublin and behold a view you’ll never forget from the Observation Wheel. Of course, no Irish adventure is complete without a trip to the Guinness Storehouse where you’ll learn the history of Ireland’s most popular stout.
The Viking traders who founded Waterford in 914 were not the first to settle in this vicinity; Neolithic standing stones and megalithic tombs testify to much older cultures. A veritable march through the centuries continues with Norman forts, medieval abbeys and numerous manor houses of 17th and 18th century vintage surrounded by primeval forests and delightful gardens.
St. Peter Port, Guernsey
Experience the best of England and France in Guernsey. Take in postcard-worthy views of brightly colored houses, idyllic gardens and cliffside paths from St. Peter Port. Later, stop at one of the many bistros for an unforgettable meal.
Southampton, England (Fly Home)
Southampton was the departure point for the Mayflower in 1620 and the Titanic in 1912. Disembark the ship and head to Heathrow Airport for your flight home or extend your trip with a two-night stay in nearby London. (Details coming soon)
