Kowal Investment Group Presents – Kentucky Bourbon Trail

You’ve been hearing me talking about the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. I went there with my sons earlier this year and it was outstanding! Sure we tasted a few whiskeys, but what really impressed me was the history and beauty of this area. That is why I am so excited to invite YOU to join Jane and me for a long weekend in Kentucky! And knowing the group of folks who have already expressed interest in a trip like this, I’m predicting we’re going to have a whole lot of fun together!

On April 20, we’ll gather at Kowal headquarters and make our way by coach to Louisville, Kentucky, our home for the next four nights. We’ve selected a fantastic hotel in the perfect location, right on “Whiskey Row!” We’ll explore Louisville, Lexington and the “Bourbon Capital of the World,” Bardstown. Whether you’re a whiskey connoisseur, enthusiast, or just looking for a fun weekend away, you’re going to love this trip because we’re traveling in great company!

Arrive in Kentucky
This morning depart Milwaukee to travel by bus to Louisville, Kentucky for your 4-night adventure on the Bourbon Trail. Check in to your hotel, located on Whiskey Row – the historic home of the bourbon industry. The collection of buildings are revivalist and Chicago style with gorgeous cast-iron storefronts. (D)

Bardstown, Kentucky
Start your adventure in the “Bourbon Capital of the World” – Bardstown. Your day begins at the Lux Row Distillery, home to the 150-year-old Rebel Bourbon for a tour and tasting. Then head downtown to the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History. Absorb the history of whiskey and learn tales of the people who made their bourbon popular. Lunch is included in Old Talbott Tavern. Since the 1700s, the tavern has been the local bourbon bar, as well as the oldest stagecoach stop in America (visited by Daniel Boone!). Later, stop at Heaven Hill to hear about the warehouse operations of the facility. Then, head into the bottling room and learn the art of filling your own Bourbon bottle! (B, L)

Lexington, Kentucky
As we make our way to Lexington, we will be making a stop at Buffalo Trace Distillery. This historic distillery, known for remaining open during prohibition to produce medicine, is truly a sight to see. Enjoy your tour as you learn about modern day production with a twist of the history included in each bottle produced. Next visit a craft distillery, the Barrel House. Here you must first obtain your medical prescription before admittance is granted to enjoy the tour and tasting. Then, test your taste buds at a local brewery who utilizes bourbon barrels to produce award-winning craft beer, Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co.! Enjoy a tour of the facility, learn about who they partner with to create their products, and sample along the way! (B)

Louisville, Kentucky
A visit to Churchill Downs affords the opportunity to explore exhibits dating back to the first Kentucky Derby in 1875, view the “Greatest Race” multimedia experience, and allows access to the resident horses in the stable. Then, it is off to the races to experience the energy and excitement of a mock race. Learn the art of placing wagers on your favorite horse, for fun, where no real dollars are required. Next, we are off to sample chocolate with Angel’s Envy Bourbon and savor how the chocolate brings out the flavors in the bourbon. Continue down Whiskey Row and visit the Frazier Museum, the official starting point of the Bourbon Trail! Enjoy the afternoon at leisure exploring Whiskey Row and the city of Louisville. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner with the group. (B, D)

Testimonials

The essence of a company is what they are, not just in the good times, but in the tough times. You all have come through with flying colors and are the model of how it "should" work. Yes, we have been on multiple wonderful trips with Cruise & Tour, but your customer care is what has just separated you from all others. We sadly had 3 international trips (with other companies) canceled in March of 2020 and are still wading through endless bureaucracy to get reimbursed; Cruise & Tour just displayed a WHOLE different and critical side of travel. No one EVER has said, "I hope my wonderful planned trip is canceled", but when it does, hopefully they have chosen Cruise & Tour! An ecstatic customer! :)
- Valori
From the communications that were emailed, to the availability of people when you had questions and all the sign holding people at the airport, Cruise & Tour took care of every detail. We didn't have to think about anything except having a good time and relaxing.
