I’m so excited that you may be one of my fellow Nile River cruisers! This trip has been one that I have been looking forward to for quite some time, and I am so ecstatic to be sharing this trip with you all. Egypt has always been a place that I not only wanted to go to, but also share with others as we wander through the desert sands, explore one of the wonders of the world, and immerse ourselves in the culture. The itinerary for this trip is not one that I took lightly. I wanted us to be able to go beyond cruising down the river taking in the sights, so for this trip, expect excitement, luxury, and a full-on immersive experience.
This trip is one that invites us to experience it all together. We will make friends and, hopefully, lasting bonds that may take us on future trips together to many other places around the world. With so many places to visit and so many experiences to have, it doesn’t have to end right in Egypt, but it is in Egypt where we will start.

Begin your journey in Cairo, an ancient city with an intriguing past. Upon arrival, step back in time and explore Egypt’s incredible history, captivating legends, and fascinating stories while you stroll among its timeless marvels. Meet your guide at your hotel along the Nile River’s bank.
Cairo
Built during the 3rd and 4th dynasties of the Old Kingdom, the Pyramids of Giza stand as a marvelous testimony to the almost unbelievable skill and determination of their builders. Get a close-up view of the Great Pyramid, built for the Pharaoh Khufu, as well as the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Not far from the Pyramids, see the great Sphinx of Giza, the legendary statue with a human head and the body of a lion, amazingly carved out of one huge piece of limestone. (B, L, D)

Cairo – Luxor – Karnak – Board Ship
This morning, fly to Luxor, the site of Ancient Thebes (UNESCO), the East Bank, and home to the expansive Karnak and Luxor Temples. Wander through this 4,000-year-old complex of pylons and obelisks, often of near-mythic proportions. This afternoon, board your cruise ship for a leisurely voyage on the Nile River. Relax aboard, taking in the views from the sundeck. Afterwards, savor an enchanting evening visit to Karnak Temple, brilliantly illuminated and offering captivating interplays of light and shadow! West Bank – Esna – Edfu
Embark on a journey through time as your day kicks off with a visit to the West Bank of the Nile, a place steeped in ancient Thebes’ history. Begin by exploring the remarkable Valley of the Kings, followed by visits to the awe-inspiring Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the imposing Colossi of Memnon. After this enriching morning, return to the ship for a leisurely lunch and some relaxation as you cruise along the Nile, heading towards Esna en route to Edfu. (B, L, D)

Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan

Aswan
This morning, venture into the enchanting world of Philae, a UNESCO site dedicated to the goddess Isis. Arrive by motorboat and be captured by the temple’s stunning island setting. Discover the ancient art of granite extraction and carving techniques in Aswan as you explore an unfinished obelisk. Finish off your day with a relaxing sail on a traditional wooden sailboat called a felucca around the charming Aswan Islands. (B, L, D)

Aswan – Disembark Cruise – Cairo

Today will begin with a visit to the Citadel of Salah El-din, offering sweeping views of Cairo. Explore the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, recognized as the largest mosque, constructed in the early 19th century by Egypt’s ruler (1805-1849), who governed for over 45 years. Afterward, head to Old Cairo to marvel at remarkable architectural wonders, including the Hanging Church, dating back to the 3rd and early 4th centuries. Later, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Khan E-Khalili, a renowned market established as a trade hub during the Mamluk era. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to browse through a plethora of colorful trinkets, handcrafted items, and exquisite pendants. (B, L, D)

Abu Simbel Optional Tour
Be transported back in time to the great Temple of Abu Simbel, reclaimed from the floodwaters of the Aswan High Dam and totally reconstructed in its present location. The site is dominated by the looming twin temples of Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari. It is one of the most recognizable ancient sites in Egypt. Step inside the Great Temple and admire the colossal standing statues of Ramses II. Proceed to the Temple of Queen Nefertari to view the murals with images of the queen manifested in the form of the goddess Hathor.
