Paul W. & Kim’s Dream Vacation – The Greek Isles
On September 29th, we’ll fly overnight from Detroit to Barcelona, Spain and board the multi-award-winning Celebrity Reflection to sail the Mediterranean for 12 glorious nights!
The itinerary is the stuff dreams are made of (after all, we do call it a Dream Vacation). In the Greek Isles, we’ll stop in Rhodes, Santorini and Mykonos where you can literally take a postcard-worthy photo around every corner. In Athens, we’ve included a tour just for WJR Travel Club members, highlighted by a visit to the Parthenon and a Mediterranean style lunch in the Plaka. But the fun doesn’t stop in Greece. We have stops in Malta, Sicily and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. To top it all off, we’ve included another exclusive experience just for WJR Travel Club members. When we get off the ship, we’ll tour Barcelona including the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. We’ll spend our final night in 5-star accommodations, right in the heart of the city.
When you consider the 15-day length of this vacation, the jaw-dropping itinerary, a world-class ship and a ton of exclusive WJR Travel Club inclusions, I consider the price for this vacation to be the best value we have ever been able to offer. Let’s take a Dream Vacation together.

Itinerary
Depart USA
Relax on your overnight flight to Barcelona.
Arrive Barcelona–Embark
Palma de Mallorca, Spain
This island enclave is often described as a mini-Barcelona, with a Gothic feel that has overtaken centuries of Roman and Moorish culture. Visit Es Baluard, the museum of modern & contemporary art, or shop for bargain pearls at the city’s many jewelers.
Cruising
Sicily (Messina), Italy
Located in northeastern Sicily on the slopes of the Peloritani, Messina is an ancient place with a fascinating history. Walk by the ruins of the Santa Maria Alemanna church, built in 1220 AD. You’ll also want to see the Duomo di Messina, a Romanesque and Norman cathedral that includes a display of artifacts in its treasury.
Cruising
Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos is living proof that picture-postcard destinations do exist. Its many charms include its iconic windmills, fabulous beaches and an irresistible traditional town with a maze of twisting streets and alleys designed to confuse marauding pirates.
Athens (Piraeus), Greece
Once home to the world’s most powerful and civilized empires, Athens is now the world’s foremost archaeological playground. The towering columns of the Parthenon still stand in homage to the virgin goddess Athena. The Parthenon sits atop the Acropolis (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and watches over the city where it can be seen from just about anywhere in Athens.
WJR Exclusive Experience: Discover Athens during an included tour of the city to see the Parthenon, New Acropolis Museum and more. Then enjoy a Mediterranean lunch and shopping in the Plaka.
Santorini, Greece
Your daydream of a Greek island meets reality in Santorini – its whitewashed villages cling to cliffsides, and bright blue roofs reflect the sea and sky. It is so beautiful that you can almost believe the myths that claim it as the birthplace of gods. The capital, Fira, a pedestrian haven with narrow, meandering cobblestone lanes, is reachable only by cable car, donkey, or for the fit and fearless, a flight of 600 steps.
Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes, pronounced ro-dos, is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands and is one of the sunniest places in the world with about 300 days of sunshine per year. This sunny retreat is also home to many historic sites, such as the ruins of the Temple of Venus and the medieval Street of Knights. The varied landscape with beaches, wooded areas and ancient ruins also make this one of the most alluring of the Greek archipelago.
Cruising
Valletta, Malta
In addition to a number of significant works of art, this town is known for the many fortifications built by the Knights of Malta, who for years helped care for European pilgrims and crusaders en route to and from the Holy Land. The walled city of Valletta was founded in 1566 by the Knights of St. John and it remains a masterfully preserved medieval treasure. From the glittering baroque interior of Saint John’s Co-Cathedral to the charm found wandering the old cobbled avenues, it’s no wonder this tiny city has earned UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
Cruising
Barcelona, Spain
Formerly a sleepy Spanish city, Barcelona has recently been reborn as an eclectic fusion of modern and medieval. This coastal city exudes European charm and welcomes multitudes of travelers every year, with must-see architectural gems that date back some 2,000 years.
WJR Exclusive Experience: Discover Barcelona with an included post-cruise hotel stay in the heart of the city and a half-day tour including a visit inside the iconic Sagrada Familia.
